William Harrison Blackwelder, Jr.

      William Harrison Blackwelder Jr., 76, of Mocksville, NC entered his heavenly home on September 22, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

   William was born on June 29, 1945 in Iredell County, NC. He was the son of the late William Harrison Blackwelder, Sr. and Eula Mae (Gilmore) Blackwelder.

    In life, William graduated from Davie High School, class of 1964. He later became a business owner and purchased Reynolda Manor Barber Shop. He worked as a barber for 44 years until he retired in 2006. William married Margie Ruth (Swisher) Blackwelder and spent 56 beautiful years with her. William and Margie were blessed with three children. William was a Christian man. He was a member of Ijames Baptist Church.

    William leaves behind to cherish his memory; his loving wife of 56 years, Margie Blackwelder. His children, Jody Blackwelder, Tim Blackwelder, and Karlene Chaffin (Bryan), all of Mocksville. His brothers, John Blackwelder (Dianne) and Robert Blackwelder, both of Mocksville. William also leaves behind his six grandchildren, Meghan Blackwelder, Blake Blackwelder (Danielle), Jacob Blackwelder, Steven Turrentine (Chelsea), William Turrentine (Retha), Leigha Naylor (Stephen), nine great-grandchildren and Stephanie Blackwelder, Meghan’s mother.

    A graveside service for William will be held on Sunday, September 26th, 2021 at 3:00 pm located at Ijames Baptist Church Cemetery. Jamie White will officiate the service.
