Walter Ray Bennett

   Walter Ray Bennett Jr., 65, of Mocksville departed this world on January 17, 2021 at his home in Davie County.

   Walter was born on April 25, 1955 in Forsyth County, NC.  He was the son of Walter Ray Bennett Sr. and Betty Yarbrough Bennett.  Walter is preceded in death only by his father.

   In life Walter graduated from Davie County High School with the class of 1973.  He was a supervisor while working for CINTAS in Winston-Salem, NC, Walter worked there for 20 years.  Walter was also a pastor for The House of Prayer for 18 years.

  To cherish his memory, Walter leaves behind his mother Betty Yarbrough Bennett of Mocksville, NC, daughters: Michelle Bennett Laughlin (Husband-David Lee) of Hubert, NC and Jenny Bennett Eure (Husband-Jared) of Clemmons, NC, sisters: Deborah Steele (Husband-David) of Mocksville, NC and Bobbie Hendrix of Mocksville, NC.  Walter is also survived by his many grandchildren: Raheem, Cody and Caleb Martin, Jared Eure Jr., Cassandra Mills, Danielle and Tristan Gibson, and 2 great grandchildren Sawyer and Ezra Martin.

   A visitation for Walter will be held Saturday January 23, 2021 at Davie Funeral Service of Mocksville from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.  A private family service will follow visitation.  Pastor Brent Spry will officiate the service.
