Terry Slater Obituary

Terry Glenn Slater, 74, of Mocksville, passed away Monday, August 17, 2020.

Terry was born on August 1, 1946 to Marvin Lee and Alice McKnight Slater.  As a young man he was employed at Duke Power. He also held jobs in construction, golf course maintenance and transportation before being self-employed as Slater Services.  In retirement he especially loved working in his garage and caring for his farm animals and flowers.   Terry was well known in the community and never met a stranger. He was a friend, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Terry was preceded in death by his ex-wife and special friend Ann J.Slater, brothers, Charles Lee Slater, Bill Slater, Henry “Tootie” Slater, Hubert Slater, Jimmy Slater, Harvey Slater, Frank Slater and sisters Rosa May Livengood and Estelle Adams.

Surviving is his longtime companion Janice Dalton, his children Teree Carr (Jim) of Denver Colorado, Lisa Regenthal (Ken) of Lewisville and Kim Allen (Will) of Saint Charles, MO as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren, brother Lee Slater of Mooresville, and sister Janie Willard of Winston-Salem, as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Terry will be buried at Union Chapel United Methodist Church, 2030 US HWY 601, Mocksville, NC 27028. 

Memorials may be made to the Union Chapel United Methodist Cemetery Fund, Attn: Jane Whitlock 202 Ashley Brook Lane, Mocksville, NC 27028 or to The Storehouse for Jesus, 675 East Lexington Road, Mocksville,NC 27028.
