Shirley Elizabeth (Boggs) Dove

   Shirley Elizabeth (Boggs) Dove, age 85 of Mocksville, NC, departed this world on August 31, 2022.

   Shirley was born on March 30, 1937, in Second Creek, WV.  She was the daughter of the late Randall Boggs and Ethel Bell (Sturdivant) Boggs.  In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clyde Webster Dove (Webb) of Solomons Island, MD where they lived for 49 years together, her brother Johnny Boggs, and her sister Phyllis Law.

   In life, Shirley graduated from West Virginia High School.  Later, she chose a career in business and worked as an outreach specialist. She worked with the Chamber of Commerce until she retired.  In her free time Shirley enjoyed spending time with her great grandchildren, she loved listening and singing to music, collecting owls, and attending any church event that took place at Solomon’s United Methodist Church.

   Shirley leaves behind to cherish her memory, a daughter, Trudy Golding (Wesley), her “daughter from another mother”, Carla Sue Lankford Milling (Tommy), two nephews, Todd and Kevin Schulrud, two nieces, Michelle Boggs and Kimberly Grossmann, a grandson, Joshua Creed Golding (Lindsay), two great grandchildren, Kylie and Kacey Golding, a brother-in-law, Ray Dove, and a sister-in-law, Faye Harrison.

   On Saturday, September 3, 2022, a graveside service will be held at Solomons United Methodist Church Cemetery and begin at 4:00 pm.  Pastor Ruth Dixon will officiate the service.
