Sammy Lee Smith

   Sammy Lee Smith, age 80 of Mocksville, North Carolina departed this world on July 20, 2023.

   Sammy was born on January 28, 1943, in Forsyth County, NC.  He was the son of the late Roy Samuel Smith and Edna Lee (Moore) Smith.  In addition to his mother and father, Sammy was preceded in death by a sister, Becky Beam, and a nephew, Jim Beam.

   In life, Sammy chose a career in the construction industry where he worked as a carpenter for many years until he retired.  He married his wife Virginia Diane (Hardin) Smith in the summer of 1979 in Bennettsville, SC.  Sammy was a simple man that had a love for animals, gardening, and his family.

   Sammy leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife Diane Smith, an adopted daughter, Rhonda Bell-Driscoll (Jennifer), and two nieces Phyllis Lewis and Ashley Lewis.

   On Sunday, July 23, a visitation and service will be held at Davie Funeral Service of Mocksville, visitation will begin at 5:00 pm and the service at 6:00 pm.  Ray Bob Carter will officiate the service.
