Russell Calvin Tallent

   Russell Calvin Tallent, age 78 of Advance, North Carolina departed this world on July 10, 2023.

   Russell was born on March 7, 1945, in Rutherfordton, NC.  He was the son of the late Martin Robert Tallent and Lillie (Calloway) Tallent.  In addition to his mother and father, Russell was preceded in death by his loving wife Lillian Elois (Richardson) Tallent, a brother Robert Lee Tallent, sisters Francis Hamilton, Margaret Garretson, Marie Mullis, Betty Jean Foster, and a granddaughter Renee Becraft Hildreth.

  In life, Russell chose a career in the construction industry where he worked for many years until he retired.  He faithfully attended Redland Pentecostal Holiness Church.  In his free time Russell enjoyed fishing, honeybees, building porch swings & just being in the outdoors.

   Russell leaves behind to cherish his memory two daughters Joy Nichols (Bill) of Advance, NC, and Karen Piscitelli Morton of Clayton, NC, a brother James Marshall of Yadkinville, NC, a sister Nadine Spillman of Cooleemee, NC, four grandchildren Curtis Clements of Virginia, James Clements of Raleigh, NC, Ronnie Becraft of Wake Forest, NC, and Billy Tuttle of Lexington, NC, & a host of step great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

   On Wednesday, July 12, a visitation for Russell will be held at Davie Funeral Service of Mocksville from 1:00 pm. – 2:00 pm.  Following visitation at 2:00 pm, Pastor David Richardson will officiate the funeral service.  Russell will be laid to rest in Fork Baptist Church Cemetery.
