Rose Marie (Cope) Spaugh

Rose Marie (Cope) Spaugh, 83, of Advance, NC, departed this world on October 20, 2021 from her home in Davie County.

   Rosie, as she was so lovingly known as, was born on July 2, 1938 in Davie County.  She was the daughter of the late Howard Taft Cope and Mary Jane (Forest) Cope.  In addition to her parents, Rosie was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Spaugh, Sr., two sisters, Katherine Burton and Frankie Minor, and one brother, Kenny Cope.

   In life, Rosie met and married the love of her life, Arthur Spaugh, Sr.  She worked for Henry Link (Dixie) Furniture for over 20 years.  She was a member of Bixby Church of the Living God.

   Rosie leaves behind to cherish her memory; three sons, Arthur Spaugh (Chuck) of Advance, Mickey Spaugh (Joyce) of Germanton, and Howard Spaugh of Winston-Salem, three daughters, Barbara Gillaspie (Melvin) of Lexington, Teresa Masters (Travis) of Advance, and Jane Marlow (Mike) of Shallotte, a sister, Francis Spaugh of Mocksville, twelve grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren, who will all miss her dearly.

   A visitation for Rosie will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Davie Funeral Service of Mocksville.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 4:00 pm, also, at Davie Funeral Service of Mocksville.  David Thomas will officiate the service.  Rosie will be laid to rest at the Church of the Living God Cemetery.
