Rebecca "Becky" Jane (Stafford) Burgess

     Rebecca Jane (Stafford) Burgess, 69, of Cooleemee, NC, departed this world on October 26, 2021 from Wake Forest Baptist Health in Forsyth County.

   Becky, as she was so lovingly known as, was born on November 5, 1951 in Forsyth County.  She was the daughter of the late Woodrow Stafford and Edith Stafford.  In addition to her father, Becky was preceded in death by her husband, William Fred Burgess, and her sisters, Shirley King and Nancy Carter.

   In life, Becky graduated from Winston-Salem High School.  Later, she began a career in the textile industry as a seamstress for QST Industries, until she retired.  Becky married the love of her life, William Burgess, with their union, they had two sons.

   Becky is survived by her two sons, Lonnie Burgess (Jamie) and Mark Burgess, both of Advance, NC, a brother, David Stafford (Judy) of Lexington, SC, three sisters, Inez George of Asheboro, Rachel Davis of Winston-Salem, and Carolyn Cross of Davidson Co., NC, along with three grandchildren, Linda Schronce, Gillian Miller, and Kyra Owens, who will all miss her dearly.

   A visitation for Becky will take place at Davie Funeral Service of Mocksville from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on October 29, 2021.
