Paul Charles Poirier

Paul Charles Poirier, 97, of Advance, NC, entered into his heavenly home on April 29, 2020 at his residence.

Paul was born March 16, 1923 in Waltham, MA to the late Martin Poirier and Victoire Deveaux Poirier.  Paul is preceded in death by his loving wife Lila Mae Degg Poirier.

In life Paul graduated from Western High School in Detroit, MI. He was in the United States Army from 1943-1946.  Later, Paul was a machinist and worked in the Aero Space Manufacturing Industry.  Paul was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the St. Frances of Assisi Church of Mocksville.

Paul is survived by a son Dennis Poirier (Laura) of Advance, NC, daughters Susan Downen (Rich) of Advance, NC, Nancy Anderson (Steve) of Advance, NC, Roxanne Yankee (Wayne) of Advance, NC, a sister Helen Weidman of Detroit, MI, grandchildren Justin Poirier, Lisa Downen, Lori Downen, Taylor Anderson, Blake Anderson, special caretaker and companion, Geri Falk, adopted granddaughter Cathi Fruchterman, and his talking Parrot, Peppy.

A visitation for Paul will be held Sunday, May 3, 2020 at the Davie Funeral Service of Mocksville’s Chapel from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
