Mary Ellen (King) Edwards

   Mary Ellen (King) Edwards, age 71 of Mocksville, NC passed away on April 8, 2023, at her home in Davie County. 

   Ellen, as she was so lovingly known as, was born on April 21, 1951, in Cherokee County, NC.  She was the daughter of the late Harold King and Mozelle (Morrow) King.  In addition to her mother and father, Ellen was preceded in death by two brothers Harold King, Jr., and Johnny King.

   In life, Ellen earned an associate degree from college and graduated from Davidson County Schools.  She chose a career in healthcare and was a dietary director at Centerclair Nursing Home for many years.  In 1966 Ellen married her husband David Louis Edwards in York County, SC.  As a Christian woman, Ellen was a member of Guiding Light Baptist Church in Davie County.

   Ellen leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband David Edwards, a son Scott Edwards (Theresa) of Julian, NC, a daughter Jennifer Koontz of Lexington, NC, two brothers Tim King of Lexington and Robbie King of Mocksville, four grandchildren Kayla Miller, Stephen Koontz, Nick Edwards, and Shana Holt, and two great grandchildren Jaycie and Casey.

   On Sunday, April 16, David Edwards will officiate a memorial service for Ellen at Guiding Light Baptist Ministries.
