Mary Elizabeth (Horton) Clontz, of Rockwell, NC departed this world on Friday, January 14, 2022, from Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Forsyth County.
Mary was born on June 17, 1924, in Fayetteville, NC. She was the daughter of the late James David Horton and Mae (Sprinkle) Horton. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Clontz, daughters, Ernestine and Annette, and a grandson, Matthew.
In life, Mary worked as a sewer in the textile and hosiery industry. She was a member of Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church. Mary was very family oriented, she loved doing yard work and HATED weeds.
Mary leaves behind to cherish her memories; her son, Steve Clontz of Rockwell, her daughter, Kay Stewart (Wesley) of High Point, grandchildren, Alina, Eric (Lynn), Nicholas Paul, and Annie Maxine, great-grandchildren, Brad, Derek, Sydney, Carter Ray, Emma Cross and Coty Spoke, and one great-great grandchild, Talon, who will all miss her very much.
A visitation for Mary will be held on Sunday, January 23, from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Davie Funeral Service of Mocksville. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at 2:00 pm also, at Davie Funeral Service of Mocksville. Officiating the service will be Pastor John Powell. Mary will be laid to rest at Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
