Martin "Marty" Van Keeton

Martin “Marty” Van Keeton, 57, of Advance, passed away unexpectedly at his home on November 4, 2019. Marty was born June 11, 1962 in Forsyth County, a son to Martin Emory Keeton and Nora Jean Hayes Keeton. He attended and graduated from Davie High School with the class of 1980.

In life, Marty was an animal lover and worked as a vet tech at Village Way Vet Hospital. He was of the Baptist faith, was a hunter and outdoorsman and as a young man achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts. Marty is survived by a loving family, including his parents Martin and Nora Jean Keeton of Advance, his sisters Amanda and Tammy Keeton of Advance, his niece Michael Kara Keeton, great-nephew Mason Gray Penland, great-niece Addison Emery Penland and his best buddy and dog Red.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 7 from 6 – 8 PM at the Davie Funeral Service Chapel in Mocksville. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 8 at 11:00 AM, also at the Davie Chapel. Interment will follow at Cornatzer Baptist Church Cemetery.
