Mae Belle Smyers Wolford of Mocksville passed away on December 30, 2020.
Born February 11, 1938, Mae was the fourth child out of six of the late Ralph Dallas Beeman Smyers and Annabelle Ruth Porter Smyers of Hinkley, OH. Beloved wife of 62 years of Bill Gene Wolford until his death. In addition to her parents and husband, Mae is preceded in death by 3 brothers, a sister, and a granddaughter.
Mae was a talented seamstress and homemaker. She raised four children and also created a large family of the heart. She was Mom, Mams or Gramma to many. Mae was a long standing member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Mocksville, NC. She was an amazing woman who was quick to laugh and love.
She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Jean Bailey (Bruce), sons: Dale Lee Wolford (Barbara), Michael Lawrence Wolford, and Mitchell Loren Wolford (Carla). She is also survived by her adopted children of the heart: Karin Rock (John), Jerry Patton (Janice), Caden Birdsong and their families. Mae also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a brother Mark Smyers (Karen), special nephew of 41 years, Robert Porter, and her beloved fur companion, Prince.
A visitation for Mae will be held January 2, 2021 from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Davie Funeral Service of Mocksville. At 3:00 pm a funeral service will follow visitation at Davie Funeral Service of Mocksville. Pastor Stan Riddle will officiate the service. Mae will be laid to rest at Liberty UMC Cemetery.
