Mable Louise (Russell) Dennis Bassett, age 83, passed away on Monday, May 15, at Mocksville Senior Living in Davie County.
Louise, as she was so lovingly known as, was born in Montgomery County, North Carolina on December 14, 1939, to the late Fred Russell and Mable (Cranford) Russell Langley. In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband Larry Dennis, a son Yogi Ussery, a stepdaughter Donna Dennis, and a brother Hubert Russell. She graduated from Troy High School and worked in the textile industry for many years.
Louise and her husband, Larry moved to Winston-Salem in 1984 where she began working at BE Aerospace as a seat assembler until she retired.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Mitzi Wood (Chip), her stepdaughter Shannon James (Tommy), her beloved grandson Dylan Wood and step grandchildren Marshall James (Danielle), Kandy Cornwell (Cale) and their families, a brother Garland Russell and many nieces and nephews, as well as her close friend Kathy Edwards.
On Friday, May 19, a visitation for Louise will be held at Davie Funeral Service of Mocksville from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm. Following visitation at 3:00 pm, Pastor John Powell will officiate the funeral service. Louise will be laid to rest in Eastlawn Garden of Memories.
