Larry Mitchell Settle

   Larry Mitchell Settle, age 78 of Mocksville, NC passed away on September 17, 2022, at Woltz Hospice Home in Surry County.

   Larry was born on April 4, 1944, in Wilkes County, NC.  He was the son of the late Rev. Clyde Mitchell Settle and Bonnie (Day) Settle. 

   In life, Larry attended Davie County schools.  He chose a career in manufacturing and worked as a control panel operator.  In 1963 Larry married the love of his life, Vivian Lounell (Grubb) Settle.  Larry attended church at Cooleemee First Baptist Church.  In his free time Larry loved hunting and fishing.

   Larry leaves behind to treasure his memory, his loving wife of 59 years, Vivian Settle, two sons Jeffrey Settle (Marsha) of Salisbury and Timothy Settle (Sandi) of Mocksville, one brother Rev. Ronald Settle (Sheila) of Dillon, SC, three sisters Renee Settle, Felica McSwain and Stephanie McClannon, three grandchildren, David, Brooke and Brianna Settle, two great-grandchildren Valerie and Brayden Settle, and two uncles Avery Settle (Louise) and Jack Settle (Pat).

   On Wednesday, September 21, a visitation for Larry will be held from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Cooleemee.  Following the visitation, a funeral service for Larry will begin at 11:00 am, also at First Baptist Church of Cooleemee.  Pastor Allen Mullins will officiate the service.  Larry will be laid to rest in Jerusalem Cemetery.
