John "Bub" Wayne Seats

   John “Bub” Wayne Seats, 76, of Mocksville, NC, entered his heavenly home on October 6, 2021 from his home in Davie County.

   Bub, as he was so lovingly known as, was born on May 26, 1945 in Davie County.  He was the son of the late John “Boss” West Seats and Myrtle Gelene (Martin) Seats.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Louise Callaway and Jane Tucker.

   In life, Bub graduated from Davie County High School with the class of 1963.  He worked as a distribution lineman for Duke Energy for 36 years until he retired.  He married the love of his life Linda Iris (Wood) Seats in December of 1973, with their union, they were blessed with two daughters. Bub was very active and was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Farmington, NC since 1972.  He was also a member of Green Meadows Baptist Church.  Bub enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and really missed it after he became ill.  Bub loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was a lifelong fan of the Yankees, enjoyed listening to country music of all types including Blue Grass and Gospel.  In his younger days, Bub even enjoyed dancing.  When he wasn’t watching baseball or enjoying his grandkids, Bub enjoyed scrolling through Facebook and reading posts from his friends and family.

   Bub is survived by his loving wife, Linda Seats of Mocksville, two daughters, Dawne Renee Wilson and Jamie Michelle Seats, a brother, Phillip Seats, two grandchildren, Matthew Wilson (Rachel) of Lee Summit, MO, and Liam Smith, 2 great-grandchildren, Charlotte Wilson and James Wilson, along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends who will all miss him dearly.

     There will be a graveside service for Bub on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Green Meadows Baptist Church Cemetery beginning at 1:00 pm.  The family will receive guests at the fellowship hall following the service.
