John "Barry" Barry Bowman

J Barry Bowman, 78, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at his home in Advance, NC.

Mr. Bowman was born in Forsyth County, NC to the late Charles Bowman and Beulah Orlene Williard Bowman.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and his wife, Susan Clara Dula Bowman, and a great granddaughter, Delilah.

Mr. Bowman was a graduate of North Forsyth High School and served his country from February 1964 to June 1968 in the United States Marine Corps. He was a Vietnam Veteran. He was employed in the funeral service industry for more that forty years.  He was a life member of the VFW Post 9010, Honor Guard, and the Marine Corps League.  He was a member of Bethlehem Methodist Church.

He is survived by his two daughters, Teresa Bowman, Sharon Chambers (Kerry); one sister, Nancy Benedict; six grandchildren, Hailey (Shane), Hannah, Hollie, JonMichael, Heidi, Hayden and two great grandchildren; Piper and Tommie. 

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday, March 4, 2024 at Davie Funeral Service Chapel in Mocksville.  A Celebration of Life service will take place on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 10:00am at Salisbury National Cemetery.

The family request that memorials be made to the Marine Corps League or VFW Clemmons Post
