John Levi Solomon

   John Levi Solomon, age 61 of Advance, North Carolina departed this world on April 12, 2023.

   John was born on September 13, 1961, in Moline, Illinois.  He was the son of the late William Solomon and Anna Lucille (Mullins) Solomon.  In addition to his mother and father, John was preceded in death by his wife Janice Solomon, a son Charles Bann, a daughter Anita Proffitt, his brother Kenny Solomon, and a grandson Wesley Martin.

   In life, John graduated from Moline High School in Illinois.  He chose a career in the heating and air business where he worked doing HVAC work for many years.  As a Christian man John was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.  He was a simple man who loved his family more than anything.

   John leaves behind to cherish his memory, a son Luther Horne, III., of Mocksville, a daughter Sonya Huffman of Mocksville, a brother Audie Solomon of Milan, IL, three sisters Debrah Reed of Newport Richey, FL, Brenda Jacobsen of Sherrard, IL, and Lisa Lager of Coal Valley, IL, ten grandchildren; Farren Stanley, Nicholas Roig, Zane Martin, Taylor Proffitt, Angel Martin, Luke Horne, Brite Martin, Faith Horne, Dennis Proffitt, and Patrick Horne, and a host of great grandchildren.

   On Saturday, April 15, a visitation will be held from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Davie Funeral Service of Mocksville.  Following the visitation Pastor Darrell Cox will officiate a funeral service beginning at 4:00 pm.  John will be laid to rest in Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
