John Michael Roberson, Sr.

John Michael Roberson, Sr., 74, of Mocksville, NC passed away on August 10, 2021.

John was born on June 8, 1947 in Charleston, SC.  He was the son of the late James Brett Roberson and Elizabeth Moore Roberson Chaffin.  In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his step father Holland Chaffin.

In life, John graduated from Davie County schools. He honored our country and served in the United States Army for 22 years before retiring in 1990.  In the 22 years employed by the US Army John did 2 tours in Vietnam.  In 1994 John married the love of his life Peggy Sue (Brannock) Roberson in Davie County. John was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.  John enjoyed the simple things in life, he loved fishing, listening to music and working in the yard.

John leaves behind to cherish his memory; a loving wife, Sue Roberson, four sons, Michael Roberson Jr. (Krystal), Ricky McClannon (Sandy), and David McClannon, all of Mocksville, and Johnny McClannon (Stephanie) of Woodleaf, three daughters, Judy Leonard (Tommy), Cynthia Crotts (Matt), and Jamie Juarez, all of Mocksville.  Also, survived by John are his brothers, Jimmy Roberson (Margie), Carl Roberson (Brenda), Larry Roberson, Tommy Chaffin (Debbie), Holly Chaffin (Sarah), along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation for John will be held on Sunday, August 15, 2021 from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Davie Funeral Service of Mocksville.  A graveside service will follow visitation at 3:30 pm at Rose Cemetery.  Officiating the service will be Pastor Darrell Cox.
