Herman Odell Snider

Herman Odell Snider, 90, of Woodleaf, passed away on August 2, 2019 in Salisbury while under the care of the Glenn Kiser Hospice Home.

Odell was born December 5, 1928 in Rowan, NC a son to the late John Anderson Snider and Della Mae Shoaf Snider. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, his daughter Theresa Kay Snider, his grandson Michael Shane Beck; his brothers Tom, Reid, Adam and David and his sisters Fannie, Mary and Etta.

In life, Odell attended Rowan County schools. He worked as a cloth inspector at Delta Thread and Cooleemee Mills and retired in 1998. Odell was of the Primitive Baptist faith. He loved watching classic TV shows and loved cars.

Odell is survived by a large and loving family, including his son Roger Snider (Frieda), son Mitchell Snider (Shirley), daughter Kathy Wilkins (Hugh), daughter Phyllis Padgett (John), 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren (expecting 1 more, Isaiah Padgett) and 6 great-great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 12 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Rowan Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. A graveside service will be held immediately following at 12:00 PM Noon, also at Rowan Memorial Gardens with Reverend Steven Burrow officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Odell’s honor to the Glenn Kiser Hospice Home or to the American Cancer Society.
