Henry "Arthur" Ratledge

   Henry “Arthur” Ratledge, 83, of Woodleaf, NC, entered his heavenly home on April 2, 2021.

   Arthur was born May 30, 1937in Rowan County, NC.  He was the son of the late Ephriam P. Ratledge and Nellie Propst Ratledge.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife Margaret Archie Ratledge, a son Dale Ratledge, and a brother Fillmore Ratledge.

   In life Arthur attended Woodleaf School.  He met the love of his life Margaret and married her in August of 1958.  Arthur worked for Celanese and retired after 28 years.  Arthur was of the Methodist faith and attended church at Woodleaf United Methodist Church.  Arthur enjoyed many things in life including Atlanta Braves Baseball, BBQs, his little Chihuahua, Chica, antique tractors, and he especially loved going for rides on his tractor with his fellow association members.

   Arthur leaves behind to cherish his memory sons Ephriam Ratledge of Salisbury, NC, John Ratledge of Woodleaf, NC, daughter Phyllis Ratledge of Woodleaf, NC, daughter-in-law Heather Ratledge, sisters Ann Spry of Cooleemee, NC, LaNell Nolley of Shelby, NC, a grandson Christopher Ratledge of Salisbury, NC and several nieces and nephews.

   A private family visitation for Arthur will be held on April 10, 2021 at Davie Funeral Service of Mocksville.  A graveside service will take place at 2:00 pm on April 10, 2021 at Woodleaf United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The service will be officiated by rev. Kevin Jasper.

   Memorials for Arthur can be made to Woodleaf UMC Building Fund.
