Harvey Forester Baynes

   Harvey Forester Baynes, age 85 of Mocksville, North Carolina departed this world on Saturday, July 22, 2023, from Novant Hospital in Forsyth County.

   Butch, as he was so lovingly known as, was born on February 1, 1938, in Forsyth County.  He was the son of the late Claude F. Baynes and Gertrude (Sowers) Baynes.  In addition to his parents, Butch was preceded in death by his loving wife, Cynthia “Cindy” (Jarrard) Baynes, a biological daughter Diane Baynes, stepdaughters Tammy Alspaugh and Paula White, a brother Jack Baynes, and sisters Margaret B. Hampton, Hazel M. Wall, and Lucille B. Smith.

   In life, Butch chose a career in the telecommunications industry where he worked as a technician/field repair for Altel until he retired.  Butch had a great love for animals and enjoyed golfing in his free time.

   Butch leaves behind to treasure his memory, a daughter Sharon Davis (Mark), two stepsons Mark Masten (Jerri, a special daughter-in-law) and Chad Masten, a grandson Michael, and special friends Brad Moore and Greg Goble.

   On Friday, August 4, 2023, a visitation and service will be held at Davie Funeral Service of Mocksville with visitation beginning at 6:00 pm and the memorial service at 7:00 pm.  Pastor Greg McEwen will officiate the service.
