Evonne Angie (Shore) Felts, 84, of Mocksville, NC entered her heavenly home on September 20, 2021, from Mocksville Senior Living in Davie County.
Evonne was born on June 8, 1937 in Iredell County, NC. She was the daughter of the late Clinton Franklin Shore and Angie Flora (Shaw) Shore. In addition to her parents, Evonne was preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy Felts and her brother, Clarence Shore.
In life, Evonne graduated from Farmington High School. She married Billy Felts and with that union they raised one daughter. Evonne was a homemaker and a proud Christian woman. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Rock Spring Baptist Church choir. When she wasn’t singing with her choir, Evonne enjoyed sewing, making cakes and cooking.
Evonne leaves behind to cherish her memory; a daughter, Carolyn Brown (Paul) of Mocksville, one nephew, Glenn Freeman, nieces, Annette York, Jean Greer, Linda Howard, Brenda Boger, Coleen Walker, Barbara Allen, Christine Sain, Rebecca Woodward, and Nancy Caudle, also, several great nieces and nephews that called her Granny. Evonne thought of them as her grandchildren. All will miss her dearly.
A drop-in visitation for Evonne will be held Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm at Davie Funeral Service of Mocksville. The family will hold a private graveside service. Officiating the service will be Rev. Steve Hedgecock. Evonne will be laid to rest at Rock Spring Baptist Cemetery.
