Elsie Dell (Campbell) James

Elsie Dell (Campbell) James, 89, of Mocksville, NC, entered her heavenly home on November 24, 2020 at Novant Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.

Elsie was born on May 7, 1931 in Wilkes County, NC.  She was the daughter of the late Harvey Campbell and Ella Mae (Henderson) Campbell.  In addition to her parents Elsie is preceded in death by her husband Clarence B. James Jr., her daughter Norma James, and her two brothers Dwight Campbell and J.D. Campbell.

In life Elsie was a homemaker, she raised her children a son Roger and 2 daughters Brenda and Margaret.  Elsie was a former member of Liberty Methodist Church, she loved to work in her yard and even mowed her yard the day before she entered the hospital.

Elsie leaves behind to cherish her memory, a son Roger Dale James (Anita) of Mocksville, daughters Brenda Karriker (Dennis) of Mooresville and Margaret Stanley (John) of Kernersville.  Elsie is also survived her grandchildren Sonya Haynes, Roger “Rosie” James (Lori), Jeremy James (Crystal) and 3 great grandchildren.

A service for Elsie will be held at a later date.
