Edward Joseph Barber, 78, of Mocksville, passed away Friday, November 1, 2024 at his home.
He was born August 3, 1946 in Saint Marys, PA to the late Lawrence Stanley and Virginia Frances Jakuboski Zimmerman.
Ed was a 1965 graduate of Bradford Area High School in Bradford, PA. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force as Air Police, K/9 section, e/3 airman 2nd class from 1965 to 1969 and was stationed at March Air Force Base in Riverside, CA. Ed was known him for his witty sense of humor, his stories of growing up in the 50’s and 60’s in rural Northwestern Pennsylvania, and his time in the military. He was an avid car enthusiast, enjoyed fishing, and taking day trips to the mountains. Ed will be dearly missed and forever loved by his daughter, and his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ronald Zimmerman.
Survivors include his daughter, Jaclyn Marie Barber (Mike Wolford); a son, Eric Paul Barber (Amy); two brothers, David Barber, and Gerald Zimmerman; and two grandchildren, Clayton Barber (Hannah) and Derek Barber, and a great-granddaughter, Hallie.
The family will have a Celebration of Life Memorial service, Friday, November 8, 2024, at 2:00pm at Davie Funeral Home Chapel in Mocksville, with Pastor Stan Riddle, officiating.
