Edgar “Eddie” Warn Joyner, 72, of Advance, NC, passed away at his home in Davie County on April 19, 2021.
Eddie was born January 22, 1949 in Forsyth County, NC. He was the son of the late Richard Rober Joyner and Madelene (Potts) Joyner. In addition to his parents, Eddie is preceded in death by a brother Randy Joyner.
In life Eddie attended East Bend High School and retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco after 35 years. Eddie honored our country and served in the United States Army. Eddie married his loving wife Peggy Sue (Bishop) Joyner in August of 2001 in West Virginia.
Eddie is survived by the love of his life, together for 26 years, wife, Peggy Joyner, sons Leslie “Les” Joyner (Anita), Kenneth Hardy, Sol Hernon (Joanna), Clark Smith, daughters, Leslie McNeil, Rhonda Bishop, Chastity Evans (Roman), Tonya Cook, Tasha McKinney-Martinez (Ebony), a brother Gray Joyner (Koleata), five sisters Julia McNeely, Kathy Josey (Mike), Ima Jean Thacker (Gene), Linda Lineberry (Steven), Deborah Matthews (Kendall). Also surviving Eddie are his grandchildren Brandon Watkins, Shane McKinney, Drake, James, Renee Hernon, Silas, Sammy, Shayla Cook, Brandon, Garrett, Donivan, Trace Smith, Eric Hypes, Savannah Anderson (Jordan), Madison Sizemore, 6 great grandchildren, and 2 step-grandchildren
A visitation will be held Tuesday May 4, 2021, 8:00am-9:00am at Davie Funeral Service of Mocksville. A Funeral Service will be held at Salisbury National Cemetery Tuesday May 4, 2021 at 10:00AM.
