Donnie “DJ” Ray James, Jr.
On November 20, 2022, DJ left this earth unexpectedly to be with the lord.
DJ was born in Iredell County on November 24, 1995, to Wendy (Boger) Pirk and Donnie Ray James, Sr. DJ was preceded in death by his grandfather Gilbert Ray James.
DJ is survived by his mother and stepfather, Wendy and Garry Pirk of Harmony, a father figure Uncle Randy McClamrock of Mocksville, special aunts, Paula Hicks of Mocksville and Kaylee Rasmussen of Woodbury, CT, his father Donnie Ray James, Sr. of Winston-Salem, grandparents Roy and Sherry Rassmussen of Woodbury, CT, Ruby Nell James of Farmington, NC, Garry S. Pirk, Sr. of Mocksville, and Jocelyn Weisberg of NY. Also, surviving Donnie are his siblings Leslie James of Asheboro, NC, William Cody James of Mocksville, Makayla Pirk of Harmony, Destiny Anders of Harmony, one niece Sorren Clausen, and one nephew Nathias Clausen, both of Asheboro, DJ’s greatest accomplishments, his children Donnie Ray James, III of Harmony, Alyric Jay James of Advance, and Eli Stroud, and his very special friend Sarita Martinez of Advance.
In life, DJ enjoyed concrete work and loved being outdoors. He was of the Methodist faith at Hardison Methodist Church. A happy-go-lucky person that could light up a room and make people laugh naturally. DJ was a simple country person who had a big heart and contagious laugh.
On Wednesday, November 30, a visitation for DJ will be held at Hardison Methodist Church from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm. Following visitation at 3:00 pm a funeral service will begin, also held at Hardison Methodist Church.
