Debra Lynn (Shipley) McDaniel

   Debra Lynn (Shipley) McDaniel, age 66 of Advance, North Carolina passed away unexpectedly on April 25, 2023, at her home in Davie County.

   Debi, as she was so lovingly known as, was born on June 5, 1956, in Forsyth County, North Carolina.  She was the daughter of the late James H. Shipley and Jessie H. (Spaugh) Shipley.  In addition to her mother and father, Debi was preceded in death by three brothers Jerry, Randy, and Jimmy Shipley. 

   In life, Debi attended Davidson County Schools.  She chose a career in the Yearbook Publishing industry where she worked with Jostens Publishing for over 20 years, then retired in 2013.  Debi was a very kind- and tender-hearted person, she would have given the shirt off her back to help anyone that needed it.  She adopted many children and pets and loved them and their friends like her own.  Debi enjoyed many things in life like flowers and gardening, her grand dogs and faithful chihuahua Cricket, and sewing and knitting.

   Debi leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving partner of 22 years, Daniel McGovern of Advance, a son Matthew McDaniel (Joyce Crater), a daughter Kara McDaniel Lippman (Michael), and various cousins.

   On Monday, May 1, Pastor Will Pryor will officiate a Celebration of Life service at Davie Funeral Service of Mocksville beginning at 5:00 pm.  Following the service family and friends will meet at Cornatzer-Dulin Volunteer Fire Department for a meal.
