Darrell Franklin Hill

    Darrell Franklin Hill, 85, passed away February 27, 2022, at Kate Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem.

   Darrell was born on October 7, 1936, in Denton, NC.  He was the son of the late Elwood and Vellie Hill.  In addition to his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Bishop, a son, Lee Dwane Hill; and a brother, Dale Hill.  

   Darrell was a furniture upholsterer and he enjoyed reupholstering classic cars.  He owned a business, Car/Dal Van, in Traphill, NC.  He also enjoyed camping, golfing, and construction work.  Darrell attended Trinity Baptist Church.  

   Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 68 years, Carole Hill of Mocksville, a daughter, Cathy Hunt and son-in-law Ronnie of Mocksville; a brother, Jerry Hill and wife Elaine of Thomasville, a sister, Texie Lee Criscoe of Archdale. Six grandchildren, Chris Bishop, Tiffany Ingham, Dustin Hunt, Eric Grayson, Ashley Witter, and Jessica Hill; and ten great-grandchildren, whom he loved spending time with, Brooke, Logan, Ryan, Landon, Xavier, Amelia, Adelyn, Carson, Darci, and Asher.

   On Saturday, March 5, 2022, a visitation will be held for Darrell at Trinity Baptist Church from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm.  Following visitation, a funeral service will take place at 2pm. Pastor Darrell Cox will officiate the service.  Darrell will be laid to rest at Walter’s Grove Baptist Church in Lexington.
