Carl Gibson Safley of Clemmons, NC, entered his heavenly home to be with his dearly loved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 23, 2020.

Carl was born September 4, 1937, son of the late Robert Lee Safley and Maime Lee (Campbell) Safley. Carl is preceded in death by his brothers Clarence Safley and Roy Safley, and sister Evelyn Ferebee.

In life Carl attended Davie County Schools. Before graduating, he enlisted in the United States Navy to serve his country, where he earned his GED. Carl married the love of his life, Nancy, in 1956. He worked with Tanglewood Park for 33 years, retiring as Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds Maintenance. Carl loved his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed outdoor activities, riding his bicycle, working on his tractor, and making life enjoyable for his family.

Carl is survived by his loving wife Nancy Lou (Brown) Safley; children Lee Safley (Suzanne), Wendy Turner (Stan), Chris Safley (Mary), Kerry Moser (Mark); grandchildren Ken Safley, Erika Smith, Jana Safley, Caleb Safley, Alaina Wimberly, Katrina Safley, Jared Safley, Garrett Safley, Derek Turner, Bryn Taylor, Shayna Johnson, Joshua Safley, Cam Safley, Erin Hamilton, Jack Safley, Hannah Moser, and Peyton Moser; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Carl's large family held a private graveside service. If you feel led to honor Carl's memory, his family would prefer that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to an organization of your choice which supports the spread of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
