Bobby Muse Thompson, 90, of Mocksville, NC, passed away on October 10, 2021 in his home in Davie County.
Bobby was born on March 15, 1931 in Cooleemee, NC. He was the son of the late James M. Thompson and Sadie (Bivins) Thompson. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
In life, Bobby graduated from Cooleemee High School. He honored our country and served in the United States Air Force in supply services, refueling aircrafts for 23 years, until he retired in 1974. Bobby served both in Korea and Vietnam. After retiring from the Air Force, Bobby worked at Baker Furniture, Ingersol Rand and The Bryan Center. He also, volunteered his time at the Zachary House Museum and helping numerous churches with projects. In December of 1954, Bobby married the love of his life, Laverne Ann (Nancy) Thompson. With their union, he had two daughters. Bobby led an active life and was a member of 1st Baptist Church of Cooleemee, American Legion, and the VFW. In his free time he enjoyed wood working and spending time with his family.
Bobby leaves behind to cherish his memory; his wife, Laverne Thompson of Mocksville, daughters, Debra Davis (Terry) of Mocksville, and Cheryl Bisson (James) of Harper, TX, two grandsons, one granddaughter, and two great-granddaughters, who will all miss him dearly.
A graveside service for Bobby will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 beginning at 9:00 am at Salisbury National Cemetery.
