Bobby Gene Robbins

Bobby Gene Robbins, 77, of Mocksville, passed away on July 7, 2019 at his home.

Gene was born August 11, 1941 in Davie County, a son to the late Parks Gordon Robbins and Sally Mae Julian Robbins. He married Vada Jane Houck in 1965. In 2004, he retired after a long career working for the State of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, his son Jackie Robbins, his daughter Bridget R. Reynolds, his brother Pete Robbins and three sisters, Colleen Tise, Madalyn Blackwood and Louise Dillard.

In life, Gene enjoyed tinkering with motors and trucks. He was also of the Baptist faith. He is survived by a large and loving family, including his dear wife of 54 years, Vada Robbins, son Bobby Eugene Robbins of Mocksville, son Jeffrey Scott Robbins (fiancée Charity) of Mocksville, brother Donnie Robbins of Faith, sisters Mildred R. O’Neal, Bernice R. Stanley, Clementine (Tina) Fortney and Judy Tilley, all of Mocksville, nine (9) grandchildren; Shannon Robbins, Brandy Hicks (Danny), Ciera Beam (fiancé Justin), Lauren Robbins, Jenny Robbins, Brittany Reynolds, Ashley Robbins, Honey Robbins and Emmy McClamrock and four (4) great-grandchildren, Anabelle Hicks, Dennis Hicks, Delaray Hicks and Jaina McClamrock.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Davie Funeral Service Chapel in Mocksville. A funeral service will be held the following day on Saturday, July 13, also at the Davie Chapel. The family will visit with friends at 12:00 PM and the funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM. Interment will be at the Turrentine Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the funeral home to assist the family with expenses.
