Mrs. Billie Jean Cheeks, 85, died in January 6, 2020 at Gordon Hospice House of Statesville, NC.
Jean was born April 15, 1934, a daughter of the late Frank Woodring and Zora Parson Woodring Ray. She was also preceded in death by her husband Marvin Verlin Cheeks, and son Jackie Cheeks, brothers Mack Woodring, Joe Greer, Jerry Ray, sister Lucille Ray.
Jean attended school at Roaring River School. She worked as a seamstress at Delmare Uniform for many years. Jean was of the Baptist faith and attended Woodleaf Baptist Church in Woodleaf. She enjoyed quilting.
Survivors include sons Marvin E. Cheeks (Beth) of Mocksville, Ricky D. Cheeks (Ruth) of Morganton, daughter in law Lori Cobb, grandchildren Aaron Cheeks (Becky), Bryan Cheeks (Sandy), Derrick Cheeks (Kristin), Dean Cheeks (Angie), Brandon Cheeks (Ashley), Cherry Frye (Joey), Holly Phillips (Chris), Kelly Jackson (Tim), Johnathan Waller (Rebekah), Josh Waller (Miranda) , great grandchildren Kelsey Cheeks, Delaney Cheeks, Aubree Cheeks, Axel Cheeks, Mallon Cheeks, Samuel Cheeks, Deanndra Cheeks, Brianna Cheeks, Rylin Cheeks, Alexander Cheeks, Taylor Frye (Morgan), Logan Frye (Natalie), Connor Jackson, Dakota Waller, Tyson Waller, Zoie Waller, great great grandchildren Kylan Lewis, Kaison Lewis, Paisley Grace Frye (Due In April). Extended family Wayne and Joy Moose, and Donnie Thomas.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 8, 2020, from 6:00PM- 8:00PM at Davie Funeral Service Chapel. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM Thursday January 9, 2020 in the Davie Funeral Service Chapel, with Rev. Rodney McAllister, and Rev. Lenny Lusk. Burial will follow at Rowan Memorial Park in Salisbury, NC.
