Betty "Joann" (Combs) Burton

   Betty “Joann” (Combs) Burton, 65, of Mocksville, NC, entered her heavenly home on Monday, May 31, 2021 from Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Forsyth County.

   Joann was born October 3, 1955 in Rowan Co., NC.  She was the daughter of the late Hoyle Wesley Combs and the late Lathel (Miller) Combs.  In addition to her parents, Joann is preceded in death by her loving husband, Bruce Lee Burton and her brother, Hoyle Michael Combs.

   In life, Joann attended Davie High School and worked in the retail business.  She was of the Baptist faith and attended church at Woodleaf Baptist Church.  Joann was very caring and loved to help people, when she wasn’t helping people she really loved gardening.

   Joann leaves behind to cherish her memory; sons, Gary Livengood (Jaime) of Mocksville, Joseph Livengood (Yahayra) of Peru, sisters, Janice McAbee of Mocksville, Jill Robertson (Richie), and grandchildren Alea Livengood and Ethan Livengood.

   A visitation for Joann will be held Saturday, June 5, 2021 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Davie Funeral Service of Mocksville.  A funeral service will follow visitation at 11:00 am in the Davie Funeral Service Memorial Chapel.  Officiating the service will be Pastor Chris Williams.  Joann will be laid to rest in the Legion Memorial Park in Cooleemee, NC.
