Our hearts are broken to announce that young Walter Glen Allen, age 2, returned to be with his Heavenly Father from Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home on Sunday, February 10, 2019, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Forsyth County on April 6, 2016, and was the precious son of Richard G. Allen and Naomi Virginia Allen of Mocksville.

We know that God makes no mistakes and we can be assured that little Walter will be awaiting his family to join him in his home in Heaven. In addition to his parents, there are three sisters, Heather, Alaina and Karrie Allen, all of the home; and his grandparents, Walter Allen III, Leanne Allen and Glen Dale Allen, all of Mocksville, and Shelia Kay Smith of Lewisville.

The visitation with family and friends will be Tuesday from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at Davie Funeral Chapel. The service to celebrate the short time little Walter was on earth with us will be Wednesday at 2:30 PM in the Davie Funeral Chapel with Pastor Darrell Cox of Trinity Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Cemetery in Mocksville.

Words are inadequate to express our sympathy for the loss of your beloved son. It is our hope that something we say or do will help ease your burden of loss.

I helped care for Walter at Baptist Hospital and came to know that He was truly a special little man. Everyday before his radiation treatments He would smile, and greet us all like friends.....and we all DID become friends. He loved the music the radiation staff played and would get us all dancing or singing with little to no worry about himself, but spreading joy to others all the while. In recovery just last week there was a baby crying in a cubicle nearby; and He said, "Get the Baby!" Again, such a deep soul for a little boy to care about someone else at this time. Many of us here at Baptist love Walter and He has enriched our lives so unexpectedly. He is a blessing and a True Angel of God.
