Ricky Montgomery Byrd

Ricky Montgomery Byrd 60, of Mocksville, NC passed away March 24, 2019 a Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC.

Ricky was born September 11, 1958 in Flint, Michigan, a son of the late John Mayford Byrd and Georgia Ann (Coleman) Sheets. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents.

Ricky was a 1979 graduate of Parkland High School. He worked as a long haul trucker and retired as a welder with Thomas Built Buses in High Point for twenty years. He was a member of Union Grove Christian Church.

Survivors include his loving partner Mary Barton of Mocksville; son Chris Spainhour of Winston-Salem; step son Michael Barton of Mocksville; daughters Casey Mills of Winston-Salem, Kristina Byrd of Texas; step daughter Julie Burcham of Winston-Salem; sisters Leean Wilson of Mocksville, and Tina Freeman of Mocksville; five granddaughters; two grandsons;

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday March 30, 2019 in the Davie Funeral Service Chapel 416 Valley Road Mocksville, NC 27028 with Reverend Todd Byrd officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at 1:00P.M. Sunday March 31, 2019  at Benham Baptist Church Cemetery 8697 Greenhorn Road Elkin, NC 28621.
