I loved “Aunt” Melba. She was my first cousin, but due to our age difference, I grew up with her daughters. I remember my mother, Ruth Wernick, being close to Melba. We spent many weekend days at your house in Prunedale. I learned to ride horses there. I always will remember your heart for your family and the students you worked with. Heaven has received a good and faithful servant. I shall never forget you.
