Mary Ellen (Taylor) Waller

Mary Ellen Waller, 76, of Mocksville passed away on June 18, 2019 while under the care of The Laurels of Salisbury.

Mary was born June 6, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland, a daughter to the late Jess Andrew Taylor and Opal Mae Bear Taylor. She attended schools in Statesville and in the summer of 1965, she married Wayne Manuel Waller Sr. In life, Mary was a seamstress and was of the Baptist faith. She loved dolls and flowers and her top priority was always her children. Mary was preceded in death by both of her parents, her daughter Jewel Christine Waller, brother Bob Taylor, brother R.C. Taylor, siblings Dot, Little Jessie, Lou and sis and Charles Goodman.

Mary is survived by a large and loving family, including her husband of 54 years, Wayne Waller Sr., her son Wayne Waller Jr. (Kim) of Mooresville, daughter Mary Ellen Ferguson (Steve) of Statesville, brother Jimmy Taylor (Linda) of Statesville, brother Howard Taylor (Lorrie) of Cleveland, sister Elaine Goodman of Salisbury, sister Rosie Jones (Doug) of Florida, sister June Payette (Dave) of Virginia, sister Bonnie Bulow (Ted) of Florida, four grandchildren; Marie, Alan, Abby and Caleb and other survivors Donnie and Nelly of Mocksville, Kay, Ann, Sue Williams and Kim Gray.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the Davie Funeral Service Chapel in Mocksville from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM. Another visitation will be held on Friday, June 21 at the Morning Star Baptist Church in Cleveland from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 2:00 PM, also at the church, with Pastor Ronald Young officiating. Interment will be at Rowan Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Brenner Children’s Hospital.
