Mary Ella (Wood) Foster

Mary Ella Foster 89, of Mocksville, NC, died November 17, 2019, at her residence, after a long battle with colon cancer.

Mary was born in Davie County, December 8, 1929, a daughter of the late James and Dot (Beck) Wood. She was also preceded in death by her husband John Foster, daughter Betty Foster Nail, and sister Sarah Wood.

In life Mary married John Foster on September 27, 1947 in York, SC. John passed away April 11, 1971. She was a retired seamstress from Southeastern Sewing, she was a homemaker, and a great cook. She loved gardening, reading, and sewing. She enjoyed traveling with friends often. Mary attended Concord United Methodist Church.

Surviving are daughters Mary Elizabeth Foster, Kathy Foster (Hahne), and Brenda F. Potts (Danny); Grandchildren Matthew Miller, Dana Lee Hayes, Lauren Miller, Ashley Miller, Charlie Love; Great grandchild Savannah Reese Love.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday November 20, 2019, at Rowan Memorial Park Cemetery.
