Lois Hess Obituary

Lois Ruth Hess (Hall), 89, of Hamptonville, NC, died December 1, 2019 at Maple Leaf Health Care Center in Statesville, NC.

 

Lois was born September 15, 1930 in Yadkin County, NC, the daughter of the late Governor Vance Hall and Molly May (Marh) Hall. She was also preceded by her husband Lonzo Jefferson Hess, son Barry Gray Renegar, brothers Clerence, Holbert, Garland, Glenn, and Leon Hall, sister Lorraine Pardue.

 

Lois was an all star basketball player in Yadkin County Schools. She worked as a spinner at Cannon Mills in Kannapolis for thirty years. Lois loved playing the Spoons, singing and making music with family.

 

Survivors include her sons Lonnie Dean Renegar (Sarah), and Earl Douglas Renegar of Hamptonville, NC. Daughters Rita Ann Presley (Darrell) of Kannapolis, NC, and Bobbie Joe Speaks (Billy) of Hamptonville, NC, sisters Betty Lou Templeton, and Shirley Short, thirteen grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews.

 

Visitation will be held 10:00AM – 11:00 AM Wednesday December 4, 2019. A graveside service will will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday December 4, 2019 at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Union Grove, NC, with Pastor James Miles Officiating.
