Julia Pearl Blackwelder (Riddle), 80, of Harmony, NC passed away on May 5, 2019 at Iredell Hospital in Statesville.
Julia was born August 7, 1938, a daughter to the late C.B. Riddle and Lessie Campbell. She attended Cool Springs High School in the class of 1956. On August 31, 1995, she married Robert Allan Blackwelder in Wilmington, NC. Julia was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Wanda Livengood and Sandy Martin, and granddaughter Miranda.
In life, Julia was self-employed as the co-owner of Blackwelder’s Trading Post & Auction. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Society Baptist Church. Julia is survived by a large and loving family, including her husband of 23 years, Robert Blackwelder, her son Kenny Martin of Harmony, daughter Lori Harrill (Chuck) of Wilmington, four grandchildren; Jason, Josh, Charlie and Lorin; and 2 great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Amber.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 7 from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM at the Davie Funeral Service Chapel in Mocksville. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 8 at 11:00 AM, also at the Davie Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Jeff Holder and David Childress officiating. Entombment will be at Rowan Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Society Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
