John Clyde “Ronnie” Daniels aka “Cowboy”, 69, of Mocksville passed away on April 30, 2019 at his home.
He was born April 3, 1950 in Burke County, a son to the late John Anderson Daniels and Geneva Mae Champ. He attended Burke County Schools and later married Julia Hack. In life, John was self-employed and his family described him as “The White Fred Sanford”. John was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Christi, his grandson Brad Joseph Leonard Jr., his sisters Clydie Mae Athey, Mary Lou Storey, Henrietta Leffler, Connie Daniels-Haines, Mary Bell and Nancy Jane.
Cowboy is survived by a large and loving family, including his wife of 23 years, Julia Hack Daniels, son John Chris Daniels of Martinsville, VA, son Shane Daniels of Salisbury, son Richard Davison of Bastdrop, TX, son Mark Dixon of Mocksville, son Gary LaBarron Jr. of Mocksville, son Paul Davison (Charlotte) of Bastdrop, TX, daughter Misty McDaniel (Greg) of Salisbury, daughter LaTonya Daniels-Hernandez (Alfredo) of Kernersville, daughters Kelly Craig-Nunez and Brittany Craig-Aguilar of Martinsville, VA, daughter Jessica Martinez (Marty) of Bastdrop, TX, sisters Rachel Weeks, Shirley Shipton and Irmagean Stoneman, 33 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and last but not least, his beloved dog Sissy.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 3 from 12:00 PM Noon until 2:00 PM at the Davie Funeral Service Chapel in Mocksville. A memorial service will be held immediately following, with Reverend Jill Smith officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Davie Funeral Service of Mocksville.
