John Henry Reeves

John Henry Reeves, 84, of Harmony, NC, passed away at his residence June 14, 2019 surrounded by his family.

John was born March 13, 1935 in Iredell County, NC, the son of the late William Howard Reeves and Cecil Blanch Victoria Ila Kate Keller Reeves. He was also preceded in death by his wife Ethel Cornet Reeves, seven brothers, and a sister.

John graduated from Harmony High School, and was a tool and die maker at Clark Equipment Company for thirty- two years. He was a member of New Union United Methodist Church, and served on the Cemetery committee for many years. He was a Mason and Past Master of the Harmony Lodge #299, also was owner/ operator of the Sheffield Music Hall. A former deputy for Davie County he loved his community. He enjoyed Farming and Gardening, was an avid possum and coon hunter. John also was a bee keeper as well.

Survivors include his sons David Lynn “Bud” (Victoria) Reeves of Harmony, David (Vicky) Johnson of Greenville, SC, John Willie Reeves of Harmony, Curtis “Dependable Son” Player of Harmony; daughter Victoria (Candelario Martinez- Avila) Reeves – DeMartinez of Harmony; sisters Anna Mae Reeves- Wright, Helen Sampson; eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; companion Dot Keller.

Visitation will be held Sunday June 16, 2019 at 6:00-8:00PM at Davie Funeral Service of Mocksville. Funeral service will be held Monday June 17, 2019 at 2:00 PM at New Union United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Pastor Steve Rainey will officiate.
