Jewel Thomas McClamrock (Cooley), 84, of Mocksville passed away on May 21, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
Jewel was born August 14, 1934 in Grayson, Virginia, a daughter to the late Thomas George Cooley and Arvie Lula (Vernon) Bunton. Jewel married Oscar McClamrock in 1961. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and one brother, Gary Bunton.
In life, Jewel worked as a hairdresser for 58 years. She also attended the Mocksville Wesleyan Church. She is survived by her loving family, including her daughter Amy M. Taylor (Jeff) of Mocksville, sister Joan Porterfield (Charles) of Clemmons, sister Barbara Whitaker of Mt. Airy, grandchildren Katie and Corey, great-granddaughter Ashlynn and sister-in-law Brookie Bunton of Mt. Airy.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 25 at 2:00 PM at the Davie Funeral Service Chapel in Mocksville. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 2:30 PM, also at the Davie Chapel, with Pastor Floyd McVey officiating. Private family interment will be held later at the Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to The Cancer Center at Forsyth Medical Center.
