Ina Mae Driver Howell, 86, of Mocksville, passed away on May 19, 2019 in Winston-Salem.
Ina Mae was born August 18, 1932 in Davie County, a daughter to the late Jesse Travis Driver and Mary Luna Lowery Driver. She attended and graduated from Courtney High School with the class of 1950. On September 16, 1950, she married James Calvin “JC” Howell. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband JC and one brother, Travis Driver.
In life, Ina worked as a clothing pattern maker. She was a member of the Union Chapel United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for over 50 years and was a member of the United Methodist Women. In her leisure time, Ina enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing cards and watching sports, especially college basketball.
She is survived by a loving family, including her son Michael Howell (Celinda) of Raleigh, son Mark Howell (Renee) of Mocksville, brother Eugene Driver (Arlene) of Love Valley, brother Steve Driver (Judy) of Mt. Airy, sister Lois Felts of Mocksville and granddaughter Stephanie Howell of Mocksville.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 21 from 6 – 8 PM at the Davie Funeral Service Chapel in Mocksville. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 22 at 3:00 PM at the Union Chapel United Methodist Church in Mocksville, with Reverend Darren Crotts and Pastor James T. “Chip” Webb Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
