George Frank Mock Jr.

George Frank Mock Jr., 75, of Advance, NC passed away on May 6, 2019 at his home.

George was born September 15, 1943 in Davie County, a son to the late George Frank Mock Sr. and Florence Adkins. He attended and graduated from Davie High School with the class of 1961. He also proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents.

In life, George was a member of the Bixby Presbyterian Church and he served on the church board and as a deacon. He also worked as a truck driver. He is survived by a large and loving family, including his sons George Frank Mock III (Dee) and George “Wesley” Mock (Julee), both of Mocksville,  daughter Frances Strayley of Mocksville, daughter Hannah Mock of Advance, sisters Susan Atchley (Benny) and Sarah Mock (Dennis), both of Advance, sister Stafford Hyman (Mike) of Mocksville, grandchildren Josh, Nelson and Crystal and great-grandchildren Cadence, Savannah, Skylar and Ryan.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 10 from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Bixby Presbyterian Church. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM, with Reverend Pete Peterson officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Military rites will be rendered by the Advance VFW Honor Guard.
