Eva Mae Haynes of Cooleemee, North Carolina was called home on Monday, July 29 2019 at her current home in Mocksville.
Eva Haynes was born October 31, 1929 in Cooleemee, North Carolina to James and Estelle Hill. Eva started school in North Carolina but finished when her family and she moved to New York City. She graduated from the Bronx, New York school system. Eva had a passion for working with people and worked as a home health aide in New York. In 1987, Eva moved back home to North Carolina to be closer to her family in the South. Eva loved caring for others, dancing and being around her family. She was always a joy to be around.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Nancy Hill, her brother James Hill, and her husband John Arthur Haynes. Eva leaves to mourn two nephews David Kelly (Sheila Kelly), Edward Harvey Jr. (LaShonda Harvey); two nieces, Angel Harvey and Vickie Hill; eleven great nieces and nephews; Jason Kelly, Jeneva Kelly, Krystle Kelly, Tychela Cobb, Tyshon Cobb, Nazsha Harvey, Lateasha Harvey, Andre Harvey, Jahid Scott, Jannah Edwards, and Tori Clark; fourteen great-great nieces and nephews and a host of cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 1 from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM at the Davie Funeral Service Chapel in Mocksville. A funeral service will be held the following day, Friday, August 2 at 2:00 PM, also at the Davie Chapel with Pastor Rodney Banker officiating. Interment will be at the Liberty AME Zion Church Cemetery in Mocksville.
