Esther Evelyn Gadberry

Ms. Esther Evelyn Gadberry, 77 years old of Mocksville, NC, transitioned to eternal rest on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 while under the care of Trellis Supportive Care in Winston-Salem.

Esther was born to the late Luna Evelyn Gadberry Sales on July 24, 1941 in Boonville, North Carolina.  She attended Yadkin High School and was preceded in death by her mother and two brothers, Lamon Sales, Sr. and Billy Ray Sales.

In life, Esther was a textile worker at Cooleemee Mills.  She was also a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church.  In her leisure time, she loved listening to music and reading.  Esther leaves to cherish her memories her loving daughter, Carolyn Sloan of Mocksville; step-daughter Beverly Young of Macon, GA; step-son Daryl Young of Salisbury; four sisters Helen Sales Lewis, Mamie Sales Watkins, Linda Sales and Caldonia Evans (Ray); several nieces and nephews; extended family members and many other friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 26 from 11AM – 12PM at Cedar Creek Baptist Church, 711 Cedar Creek Road in Mocksville, NC.  The funeral service will immediately follow at the church, with Reverend Coker Stewart officiating.  Interment will be held at the church cemetery.
