I was so very, very sorry to hear of Roy's passing and send everyone in the Broadway family my condolences and prayers. Roy was one of the finest men I have ever had the privilege to know. He was always ready with a smile and a kind word for everyone and totally devoted to his family. No doubt Heaven is a much better place since he arrived!

I did not know Mr. Broadway personally, but heard wonderful stories of him from his granddaugher, Julie Broadway Byrd. So sad to lose these great WWII veterans. My prayers and sympathy to the family. I hope you find comfort in your memories and knowing that he is at peace now.

All of us with the Cooleemee Fire Dept would like to express our sincerest condolences for your loss. Roy was always very friendly and loved talking about the fire trucks. We would drive our trucks out for training and would always make sure to drive down Broadway rd to see Roy. If he wasn't outside we would blow the horn and he'd be there when we turned around. We will all miss doing this and being able to stop by and talk with him.
