Amelia "Auntie" Agnes Kent

Amelia Agnes "Auntie" Kent, 96, a resident of Advance, completed her earthly journey Saturday, October 31, 2015. A native of Brooklyn, New York, she was born May 2, 1919, the daughter of the late Karl Kornakowska and the late Frances Rembisz Kornakowska. She had become a resident of North Carolina approximately three years ago when she moved here to live with her only nephew.

Ms. Kent had a successful career in the insurance industry where she retired as a supervisor with Aetna Insurance Company after 35 years of service. She was of the Roman Catholic faith and had attended Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church in Queens, NY. In addition, she was very active in numerous volunteer organizations throughout her life as long as her health permitted.

She is survived by her nephew, Frederick Walter Marion and wife, Carol; her great nieces & nephews: Sandy Keane, husband Mike, Dawn Allex, husband, Kenneth, Debra Marion and Brian Marion, wife Jamie, and John Marion wife Vickie; and her great-great nephews & nieces: Jessica Keane, Kevin Keane, Danny Allex, Ken Allex, Tim Allex, Casey Marion, Ivy Rose Marion, Maria Myers and Jasmin Myers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by twin brothers and a sister, Carolyn Frances Marion.

The family will receive friends at Davie Funeral Service Chapel from 7 to 9 p m Thursday November 5, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial service will be conducted at 10:00 AM Friday, November 6, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Mocksville officiated by the Rev. Father John Starczewski.
